180 Studios, Listening Room Host
We're seeking enthusiastic individuals to fill weekday and weekend positions as Listening Room Hosts from May 22nd to Dec 1st. As a Listening Room Host, you'll curate an immersive experience for visitors, showcasing vinyl records from our collection on our sound system. You'll provide brief introductions to the music and ensure the smooth operation of the sound system.
Responsibilities:
Select and play vinyl records for visitors, giving brief introductions to the music.
Ensure the proper functioning of the sound system and be knowledgeable about its operation.
Maintain a presence in the room, actively engaging with visitors and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
Discourage interruptions, conversations, and antisocial behaviour to maintain an optimal listening environment.
Manage flow and capacity in the room, politely encouraging visitors to make room for others when necessary.
Requirements:
Availability to work Wednesdays through Sundays, with weekday shifts from 11:30 to 20:30 and weekend shifts from 09:30 to 20:30.
Excellent communication skills and a passion for music.
Ability to remain fully present in the room and encourage others to do so.
Strong interpersonal skills to engage with visitors and ensure a positive experience.
Prior experience with sound systems and vinyl records is a plus.
